Transformation of the GNU Compiler Collection from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (gcc-8.4.1-1.el8) into gcc-epel to achieve the missing RPM packages for Ada/GNAT, GCC JIT, Go, Objective-C and Objective-C++ that Red Hat decided to remove (see: Considerations in adopting RHEL 8, and this also won't change as per bug #1826731).
Important: Please use gnatgcc
, gobjc
or gobjc++
rather than gcc
for a GCC with Ada/GNAT, Objective-C or Objective-C++ support because gcc
is unfortunately not really modular and was also built without support for these programming languages by Red Hat (or a vendor of a 100% bug-for-bug compatible drop-in distribution).
