There is a rebuild of gfal2 against xrootd 5 planned.
The automatic push to stable due to karma or time is disabled for the xrootd 5 updates, I plan to coordinate the push of this update with the gfal2 maintainers to avoid breakage.
I would like to try to avoid having an xrootd-compat package in EPEL 8 in order to not have to maintain an old xrootd version until EPEL 8's EOL date in 2029.

Hi,
Epel8 with this:
rpm -q gfal2-plugin-xrootd-2.18.1 --requires |grep 'libXrdPosix.s' libXrdPosix.so.2()(64bit)
rpm -q gfal2-plugin-xrootd --requires |grep 'libXrdPosix.s' libXrdPosix.so.2()(64bit)
can no longer be installed.
Indeed in 7 I see you added an xrootd4-libs and xrootd4-client-libs to satisfy the dependency.
Should 8 be the same?
