The "Open" popup is gone, as is the functionality to search recently opened documents. I use this feature extensively, is this removal intentional?
Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
The Open button and dropdown are there but yes they have changed. That's an upstream change though, so I don't know why that merits negative karma.
It's a regression in functionality that's enabled by default, so I give negative karma, I don't really care whether it's an upstream change or not.
If you think pushing a big update like this to a stable branch even though there is negative feedback, that's your decision ...
Gedit seems to work fine. The change in the Open functionality is unfortunate, but my opinion is that it's ok to push it. F38 was supposed to have Gedit 44, but for some reason it wasn't included and just included the 44 alpha version. It's definitely a good idea to update to a proper stable release rather than continue shipping an alpha version.
