I only have dnfdragora installed, I do not have dnfdragora-updater installed as I find it gets in the way of manually updating via the command line.
I downloaded and installed an old version of mousepad to test updating via dnfdragora to try and confirm the failure reported above. I clicked Apply and OK then entered my password and it worked as expected, and mousepad was updated to the current version.
So for me it works (using dnfdragora, not the updater).

Understood. I'm running Xfce, I believe it is xfce-polkit that is asking me for my password, but not totally sure.
There is prompt for password in LXDE.
This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes
