Is it possible that this fix is not about BZ#2213179 but BZ#2212012 ?
BZ#2213179 cannot be mitigated by
module_blacklist=ucsi_acpi
, but BZ#2212012 can (see also the related ask.Fedora links in the bug reports)It is correct that BZ#2213179 refers to F37, but it is about a KVM problem (mitigation by removing the KVM switch).
At the same time, BZ#2212012, where
module_blacklist=ucsi_acpi
helps, is about F38.I ask because the message about a fix for people where
module_blacklist=ucsi_acpi
helps is in BZ#2213179 instead of BZ#2212012 .The misunderstanding seems to have occurred in https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-ark/-/merge_requests/2511 (I assume I triggered this confusion because I mentioned both BZ# in my email that triggered this MR) -> The MR refers to the BZ#2212012 ask.Fedora conversation but the BZ#2213179 report.
./runtests.sh
PASS with the kernel-6.3.8-200.fc38.x86_64 builds within a kvm/qemu VM (KDE spin, up to date with all testing repos of F38 enabled) with CPU-passthrough on a AMD Ryzen 6850 PRO host. No third party modules (tainted = 0).I tested the VM some minutes with average activities, works fine so far. No errors/issues when using it.
Occurrence of Fedora BZ#2193110 / kernel BZ#217528 was not yet tested.
Works for me, the enabled Default and Performance tests pass OK.
Work Station > Ryzen5 5600g/AMDGPU 400 Series Chipset. (UEFI + Secure Boot). SSD's > RAID1 (ext4) , running Plasma DE from Zawertun's COPR.
Works on baremetal (non UEFI mode) AMD Ryzen5 3600, Mainboard MSI B450M Mortar Max with prop. nvidia driver (535.54.03) from rpmfusion.org (GTX980 card). Works with Gnome-Desktop (Xorg).
default test suite PASS
