Works.
Works
This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes
Can we wait before pushing mutter to stable? See: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2261
Downgrading mutter to mutter-42.0-6.fc36.x86_64 fixes this issue.
Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
I thought I was going mad, but it appears I'm experiencing https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2261 as well.
Didn't experience 2261 bug.
Yes, this breaks editors like gedit or Zim. You can't scroll (using mouse), because the view always resets to display the cursor.
@fmuellner please unpush this asap, thank you. Or we need to collectively give it -3 overall karma. Please everybody vote a thumbs down.
This update has been obsoleted.
This has been fixed for gtk4 applications (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2261).
Bear in mind that not updating GNOME shell to 42.1 keeps this annoying bug in (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4919)
It has been fixed with gtk4-4.6.4, but no released version of gtk3 has the respective fix yet.
Could the other two be pushed to stable? It is only mutter that is affected by that and 42.1 fixes bugs in the others too
If corresponding patch https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/commit/d6fe6f495a52de47927bf17ce3bc492a971c025f to the fix already present in 4.6.4 is backported to the gtk3 package the mutter issue should be cleared for both 3+4, or can wait til the next gtk3 release
@fmuellner could you have another look at this and see if you'd like to push it to stable?
GTK 3.24.34 has been tagged, the issue that blocked mutter 42.1 should be gone once the fedora package updates.
