Please also test reboot / poweroff, because the fix for bug 1941329 makes non trivial changes to the shutdown/reboot code.
The changed reboot code causes a new selinux denial, this will be fixed in the next selinux-policy update. This will cause the text-console to be briefly shown on shutdown/reboot. This brief show of the text-console will go away once the selinux update lands. You can do: "sudo setenforce 0" before rebooting to try how the boot-splash will behave once the selinux issue is resolved. This is being tracked in bug 1945585.
