Looks ok for me. Runs since it was ready in koji. Works on baremetal (non UEFI mode) AMD Ryzen5 3600, Mainboard MSI B450M Mortar Max with prop. nvidia driver from rpmfusion.org (GTX980 card). Works with Gnome-Desktop (Xorg). Regression test passed (paxtest, selinux-dac-controls and libhugetlbfs skipped).

Seems like 5.12.6 also fixes #1959581. Would nice if someone could confirm this.

User Icon jforbes commented & provided feedback 3 years ago

@atim If it does, it is incidental. A variation of the patch posted in the upstream bug that was linked in the ticket is queued for 5.12.7, and there is a scratch build[1] I made of 5.12.7-rc1 which is listed as a 5.12.6-301.fc34 that you can test to verify. This particular official update for 5.12.6 does not contain that patch though. I expect 5.12.7 to build tomorrow at some point.

Hi, after update my system fails to boot. It just sits there indefinitely After I see "Welcome to Fedora 34" and "Switching Root".

When I boot with 5.11 everything goes fine.

User Icon harshmangal commented & provided feedback 3 years ago

Works fine - HP (8th Gen)

Architecture: x86_64
Model name: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GH
Memory: 8 GiB of RAM
Graphics card: Intel UHD Graphics 620

I have the same problem that @akostadi had...

After the upgrade to kernel 5.12 fedora fails to boot. I stay indefinitly in "Switching Root".

When I boot in 5.11 everything works fine.

Also when I boot in emergency mode everything works fine

User Icon akostadi commented & provided feedback 3 years ago

Sorry for double posting but for the people hitting the issue, please update to the already available 5.12.7. It fixed the issue for me and most other people.

https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-a35b44fd9f

I see also even newer builds but I haven't tried them yet.
