This update's test gating status has been changed to 'waiting'.
This update has obsoleted firefox-72.0-2.fc30, and has inherited its bugs and notes.
This update's test gating status has been changed to 'ignored'.
Update works. It's a bit slow, compared to previous FF's, but that could be coincidental.
the PIP logo icon while playing i.e. a mp4 is missplaced in the media frame, instead of the control frame. If upstream planned it to do so, it's ( sorry to say this ) a design bug.
Bookmarks and Mediaplayback work in general
I'm experiencing pretty serious problems with this update. Once upgraded I start firefox again and some data would load but it would quickly seem to then fail to load almost anything, just a white page with no errors usually. Gmail specifically would show a corrupted content error which I've lost because I had to downgrade to post this update. :)
This was with an older firefox profile, but it also has not caused a problem in years and years.
The render Engine failes on some systems running Fedora 30, with different hw configs and different profiles states.
i7 intel Soc GFX => failed rendering pages => only white pages Ryzen 1500x Nvidia GTX1050 RPMF => failed rendering pages => only white pages
AMD FX-8350 + Nvidia GTX 1050 RPMF => works as expected, with the oldest possible profile created with FC15.
Downgrade to 71.0.15 reversed it.
I have reported the rendering issues here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1789539
works for me (HW_COMPOSITING and OPENGL_COMPOSITING on, WEBRENDER off) - old AMD E-450 APU with 6320 GPU
openQA showed issues on the previous update but not this one, interestingly. All the openQA tests passed for this update on both stg and prod. So it seems like, unless we got very 'lucky', the problem was fixed in openQA's environment in 72.0.1, but broken in some other environments instead...
This update has been pushed to testing.
Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
So, FWIW: I have a F31 system where I just applied the Firefox update and didn't apply a bunch of other updates, and I was getting just white pages. Updating everything else (except the kernel, as I didn't reboot) seems to make it work fine. Maybe some missing dep?
Usually it's nss depedencies. Resolved white pages with 72.0.1 by manually upgrading nss to 3.48.0-1.fc31 on F31. Same for FC30. Just check "Library Versions" in about:support. "Expected minimum version" should be at lest equal to "Version in use".
I can confirm updating nss and nspr to the latest stable version resolves the issue. I have updated the bug report. Thanks for debugging, everyone. I've asked Firefox maintainer to update the spec.
After nss updates, Firefox 72.0.1 is running now.
This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes
No problems encountered with up-to-date versions of above mentioned libraries.
work for me :)
Works fine with nss 3.48.0-1.fc30.
Tested firefox-72.0.1-1.fc30.x86_64 with nss-3.48.0-1.fc30.x86_64 on Fedora 30, looks good.
After updating NSS my issue is gone as well.
Works for me on fc30.
