I could both update from 0.5.7.1 and install it clean. Also "python-magic" is no longer required. I can add games & runners, edit them individually and run my games, but I'm still unable to open any of the drop down menus (view/search or settings) and all of my game preview images are all white/blank, but maybe that's a problem that should be addressed on their end.
Could you submit a bug report about this to the Lutris Github @itrymybest80? This is probably an upstream issue given that it has appeared both before and after my patch, and between two versions.
If someone experiencing this issue wants to add info to that br, go ahead. I'm not personally experiencing that, probably because I'm on X11 due to Nvidia drivers.
Alright, sounds good. Still going to keep karma on negative since wayland is default. I was going to submit a bug report, but the lutris repo has been locked down for now contributors 🤔
I would wait for patch unless you make GDK_BACKEND=x11 lutris default. The Lutris repo seems to have finally figured itself out, so I'll submit a bug report there as well.
If the wayland issue is already present on currently stable lutris version (0.5.7), then it makes no sense to give a negative karma here nor delay this update. A negative karma is suppose to prevent from regressions. It shouldn't be used for "my bug is still not fixed" feedback.

the issue was introduced in 0.5.8, and therefore is a regression. As wayland is the default display protocol, I believe it is important to hold this package back until it works with a default fedora system.

@bunnyapocalypse
It is definitely upstream. Details here: https://github.com/lutris/lutris/issues/3297. It can be temporarily fixed with
GDK_BACKEND=x11 lutris
, but a commit has been submitted upstream: https://github.com/lutris/lutris/issues/3297. They said the commit closes the issue, but I am still getting it on this package...Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
Okay, I've opened a fresh bug report on the Lutris Github here: https://github.com/lutris/lutris/issues/3341

*non-contributors
@nickavem me neither. I also noticed that Lutris no longer picks up wine/proton from my Steam folder.
@itrymybest80 That's actually intentional, see the changelog for v0.5.8.1 or this commit.
This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes

The bug was introduced (to my understanding) in 0.5.8.
Tried to run the only game I have installed in Lutris (Beyond Good & Evil), runs fine.

OK, in that case the negative karma makes sense, the maintainer should consider this.
