-2 | 5 | Test Case kernel regression |
This update has been submitted for testing by pbrobinson.
@pbrobinson Thank you for the fast build, but i think the kernel-headers are missing because on my Virtualbox-Host the VBox-driver do not build and i cant start any VM. It works with -300.
shutdown no longer works as usual. It seems to be more than 5 minutes that the system shuts down (same to -300).
@ibims you don't need to build VBox drivers anymore, all the parts are in Fedora by default. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/VirtualBox_Guest_Integration

I mean the host not the guest.
x86_64, i5-7200U, HT off
VirtualBox host kernel modules have built successfully with kernel-headers-4.19.2-300.fc29.x86_64, VirtualBox VM's are running fine
Works on T450s and XS35GTv2.
Suspend mode now works in my HP 650, thx.
Works great on Lenovo T480 with dGPU! LGTM! =)
Works well in VirtualBox
Beware

CIK users (R9 290, 390): https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108781 GPU does not init properly:works for me on a T480s
i have a possible workaround for the shutdown problem reported above: with this kernel (-301) i have to remove "rhgb" from the kernel commandline in grub. A similiar problem was noticed before the plymouth update came weeks before and now with this kernel it comes again. It doesn't appear with kernel 4.18.18 and 4.19.2-300. What could be the difference here?
No regressions noted.
Works for me, no regressions noted. Lenovo t470s
Works fine on Lenovo E560, kernel tests passed (except for paxtest as usual)

Update is ok but i have problems with long reboot/shutdown too with 4.19.2. AMD CPU.
4.19.2 has run fine. The default tests passed or skipped for 4.19.2-301. The cachedrop test had the error Can't free dentries and inodes for 4.19.2-300, but I've seen that error many times before.
Works for me.. The Default and Performance Regression tests pass OK.
wfm on i7-5820K. regression test cases passed.
Looks good here. We also have 4.19.3 out to start with.

Encountered amdgpu issue reported above...
Unfortunately, both this build and the previous
4.19.2-300
completely hosed my system, in what seems to be an incompatibility with the Nvidia binary drivers (rpmfusion410.xx
series). I initially thought it was the update toxorg-x11-drv-nvidia-410.78-1.fc29.x86_64
that caused the problem, but after downgrading to410.66
and still encountering it, I was forced to go back to4.18.17-300.fc29.x86_64
(with nvidia410.78
, so that update's definitely not the problem in and of itself).(These symptoms are identical to my previous report on
-300
:) Startup goes fine at first, but at some point during my session login a null pointer dereference in the kernel drm code is logged. After that point, the system gives the appearance of working but really it's toast. Firefox sits in the process table but never displays anything at all, gThumb dumps core, Chrome opens up literally empty windows (not even the client side decorations), and if I try to shut the machine down it completely freezes and requires a 4-second lean on the power button to switch it off. Here's the kernel oops in
-301
, as logged to the journal:
