New upstream release 1.16.1. Note this version is stable in Fedora 26 and Fedora 27, so without this, Fedora 28 will be behind those releases, which causes a critical issue for FreeIPA upgrades.
Updates may require up to 24 hours to propagate to mirrors. If the following command doesn't work, please retry later:
sudo dnf upgrade --refresh --advisory=FEDORA-2018-309397b340

Works for me.
The new sssd.service fails to start in F28 and F27 for me causing a boot delay of around 1:53 minutes. Where would I started collecting useful data about that?
systemctl status sssd.service

mschwendt: The best way would be to file a bug for us on Fedora and let's keep debugging it from there. I'd like to ask for the SSSD logs. Please, take a look at https://docs.pagure.org/SSSD.sssd/users/troubleshooting.html#sssd-debug-logs where we have instructions on how to get those.
The biggest amount of info you can give us, quicker and better we can help you.
Since booting with an added -d 9 debug level I haven't been able to reproduce the boot problem yet.
Works

Confirmed that this fixes 1558817, generally appears to work OK in testing.
