calamares-3.1.7-1.fc27

FEDORA-2017-299f7111e4 created by kkofler 7 years ago for Fedora 27

An update of Calamares to the latest upstream bugfix release, version 3.1.7.

Notable changes since 3.1.1:

  • The .desktop file (menu entry) is now translated.
  • Python job modules can be translated now.
  • The Summary page now shows language and number-formats information.
  • The Quit and Done buttons now have a tooltip explaining what they will do.
  • If installation fails, the system won’t reboot automatically on the last Calamares page.
  • Fat32 filesystems are now handled correctly even when misspelled (thanks Kai Hohmen).
  • Filesystem sizes are now shown with an MB suffix (thanks Lisa Vitolo).
  • A race condition leading to crashes when starting Calamares has been resolved.
  • The Packages module has been seriously revamped; it is now also translatable.
  • Translations in the partitioning module have been improved.
  • Encrypted swap is now correctly configured.
  • Minor visual improvements.
  • The bootloader installation for EFI systems used the wrong name for the bootx64.efi (or bootia32.efi) files (regression in 3.1.1). The file was installed as grubx64.efi (or grubia32.efi). Some firmwares (in particular, the one in VirtualBox) are very picky about the name of that file and expect it to be bootx64.efi (or bootia32.efi), the installed system should now boot without tweaking on those systems again.

In addition, the grub2-efi dependencies have been updated for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/32BitUefiSupport (support for 32-bit UEFI on 64-bit x86_64 Fedora). Calamares already supports this feature, so this should work out of the box now. (Please note that 32-bit x86 (ia32/i386) Fedora does not support UEFI though.)

Updates may require up to 24 hours to propagate to mirrors. If the following command doesn't work, please retry later:

3.1.7 fixes the following regressions:

  • Netinstall was no longer compatible with the packages module (regression in 3.1.4), which prevented any users of netinstall from installing packages from online repositories.
