There is a regression in here, the trackpad on a Dell XPS 15 is broken with 3.3.x works on 3.2.x. Not critical, well unless you want a mouse, but it is there. I'll try to put together a bug report.

@Does not install for me ... - DNF is crap - downloaded the packages and "yum-deprecated update .rpm" while DNF fails ALWAYS for localupdates with inter-dependencies - see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1263888 while "non deterministically" is plain wrong - it fails always* in case of subpackages with inter-deps

Tested on Asus Aspire VN7-592G

This is based on the Atheros 10k and Intel Skylake chipsets with additional discrete NV117 GPU.

Bluetooth and wifi still work (with the windows firmware in place... see the linux-firmware github repo for details on this).

Intel GPU performs great and feels more fluid and stable (no more preliminary hardware kernel arg needed).

Nouveau doesn't work with this GPU - but no change there.

Sound is working.

User Icon amluto commented & provided feedback 8 years ago

This update has problems with Dell's trackpads -- see #1296677.

(I think that 4.2 was okay because 4.2 was probably missing one of the several drivers needed to switch a multitouch trackpad on Skylake from PS/2 emulation mode to multitouch mode, so it never got far enough to crash the trackpad firmware.)

erinn, this is probably the same issue you saw.

This breaks most modern laptop. I've scene kernel oops two different ways so far if you have a new Lenovo or Dell laptop that is higher end this may cause your laptop to kernel oops or major built-in hid problems
