Streamed videos in 1080p for an hour, and downloaded a 600 MB file; both worked beautifully. There was no buffering and no CTRL-EVENT-BEACON-LOSS log messages. Tested with laptop using ath9k driver and Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter.

BZ#2067108 ath9k WiFi problem >5.16.14

I'm more than happy to change my subjective karma rating from negative to neutral, as you imply. Thanks for all your input on working on the ath9k driver regression.

Using my laptop's Wi-Fi to stream videos is a big failure with a, Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter.

My Acer Aspire E1-570 laptop's log repeatedly contained the message

wpa_supplicant[959]: wlp3s0: CTRL-EVENT-BEACON-LOSS

This stable kernel update, and the 2 previous kernels all have the above ath9k driver regression

  • 5.16.15-201.fc35.x86_64
  • 5.16.16-200.fc35.x86_64
  • 5.16.17-200.fc35.x86_64

The 5.16.17-201.fc35.x86_64 scratch kernel build, fixes the above ath9k driver regression for my laptop; and I don't have to revert back to kernel version 5.16.14-200.fc35.x86_64, to get perfect Wi-Fi video streaming.
