Update fixed compatibility.
using that version, the extension is enabled again under GnomeShell 41
Wrappers aren't optimal, but fix the previous issues (such as zsh job-control breakage) due to aliasing to a function that sub-shells.
Unpushed it because a unittest case failing on aarch64.

installed it, works fine
tested it on a CentOS 7 machine, LGTM
